Bayern Munich V Manchester United
Bayern Munich: Butt, Lahm, Van Buyten, Demichelis, Badstuber, Altintop, Van Bommel, Pranjic, Ribery, Muller, Olic. Subs: Rensing, Gorlitz, Klose, Contento, Alaba, Gomez, Tymoschuk.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, Nani, Park, Rooney. Subs: Kuszczak, Berbatov, Giggs, Rafael Da Silva, Jonathan Evans, Valencia, Gibson.
Armchair verdict: Bayern will struggle to overcome the loss of playmaker-in- chief Arjen Robben and wihtout him they may struggle to break down United's solid defensive partnership of Ferdinand and Vidic. The loss of Robben forces Munich to rely even more on Frank Ribery for creativity and he should recieve alot of attention with the tenacfious Darren fletcher likely to be given the task of tracking his every move from midfield.
Sir Alex Ferguson will continue with his favoured 4-3-3 formation for european ties and persists with the combination of Park and Nani on the flanks with Rooney up front that was so successful in the last round.
This could be a cagey affair early on although United will look to open up a Bayern team short that will be low on confidence after two straight losses.
Prediction United win 2-1
Bordeaux V Lyon
Lyon: Lloris, Reveillere, Cris, Bodmer, Cissokho, Makoun, Toulalan, Delgado, Pjanic, Michel Bastos, Lopez.
Subs: Vercoutre, Boumsong, Kallstrom, Ederson, Govou, Gomis, Gonalons.
Bordeaux: Carrasso, Chalme, Sane, Ciani, Tremoulinas, Gouffran, Plasil, Menegazzo, Wendell, Gourcuff, Chamakh.
Subs: Rame, Henrique, Jurietti, Cavenaghi, Jussie, Bellion, Placente.
Armchair Verdict: This all French clash may be the most evenly matched of the four quarter finals. Laurent Blanc's Bordeaux snatched a 1-0 victory when the sides met in Ligue 1 last month.
Both sides have struggled domestically in recent weeks but Lyon can look back on their famous win against Real Madrid in the last round with confidence while Bordeaux's seven straicht wins in the competition means they will have no fears.
The tie may come down to a battle between the strikers for both sides as Lisandro Lopez for Lyon and Marouane Chamakh for Bordeaux look to impress on the biggest stage
Predicition 1-1
