Super 15 kick off
With some of the relatively dreary fair that has been on show thus far in the Six Nations, particularly whenever England are involved, the on screen spectacle has been somewhat of a disapointment for rugby fans since the pool stages of the Heineken Cup ended.
This weekend comes some much needed relief in the form of the Super 15 with the cream of Southern Hemisphere rugby poised for another breathtaking season of flowing rugby and big hitting.
Last years champions The Reds and fellow finalists The Crusaders look poised to challenge for top honours once again although the Crusaders without the departed Sonny Bill Williams, and the injured Dan Carter and Richie McCaw will find it tough going against an exciting looking Blues side this week.
Other possible contenders include the Waratahs with the South African threat mainly coming from the Bulls this season
If your a rugby fan this is what you've been waiting for and the wait ends now.
